BYHP is a charity based in Banbury offering a range of services to young people aged predominantly 16 – 25. BYHP is currently going through a period of change and expansion and has the following exciting opportunity in it’s new Social Enterprise Scheme. The post is funded by The Big Lottery Fund for five years
Catering Manager – BYHP’s Social Enterprise Scheme – BYHP’s Pantry 37 hours per week – Salary £20,196 per annum – NJC Spinal Point 23
BYHP is setting up a social enterprise scheme with the primary objective of training young people whilst establishing an income stream for the charity. The postholder will train young people enabling them to gain relevant qualifications and work experience within the scheme. The postholder will also be responsible for setting up, promoting and managing the scheme selling lunch time snacks from retail premises in Banbury. This person will need to have empathy with young people, a sense of humour, excellent leadership skills, a background in catering and an ability to work on their own initiative.
Alcohol Worker – Fixed Term contract for 3 years - 37 hours per week. Salary: currently £20,196 per annum – NJC Spinal Point 23 – This post is funded by Comic Relief
The postholder will develop and run an alcohol awareness project in the BYHP Drop In and local secondary schools. The project worker will have direct experience of working with young people, have an understanding of the issues surrounding alcohol abuse, and have the ability to organise and deliver support sessions to young people both at BYHP and in local secondary schools, in an individual and group setting. The post will also involve setting up and running a Peer Support Project. Access to your own transport is essential as this post will involve working in the Cherwell District, for which a travel allowance is payable.
Domestic Abuse Worker – Fixed Term contract for 3 years – 18.5 hours per week. Salary £20,196 pro rata per annum. NJC Spinal Point 23 – This post is funded by Lankelly Chase.
The postholder will establish and take day to day responsibility for running a service at BYHP, working with vulnerable young people aged 16 – 25 who are/or have been the victims of domestic abuse. The worker will provide support and promote positive attitudes and behaviours in personal relationships. Work will be undertaken in partnership with other local service providers to inform young people regarding help available in the local community. Access to your own transport is essential as this post will involve working in the Cherwell District, for which a travel allowance is payable.
Start date for the above post will be October 2010

Oxfordshire Rural Community Council is a county based charity working with local people to improve and sustain the quality of rural community life. Would you like to help us to encourage and promote informal, locally based networks for people who work from home in order to improve social, business and community links?
This could be on a negotiable full-time or a job share basis.
We are looking for a self-starter with a range of skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work on own initiative out and about in the county and to achieve outcomes within a limited time-scale.
An understanding of how to work with business people and with community organisations, and of issues impacting on them, is essential.
