OCVYS Treasurers Report 2008 / 2009

OCVYS is both a Registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. The legal responsibilities of the ocvys trustees means that the accounts have to be independently audited and approved by the AGM tonight before being lodged with CC and CH.

The accounts before you have been set out in the manner approved by the CC and CH, but they may not be in a format that you instantly recognise.

Much emphasis is placed in the accounts on funding that is restricted or unrestricted. Restricted funding is that which must be spent on the objective for which it was given (as you would expect). Unrestricted Funding can be spent on anything. As you can see from the Incoming Resources on p14 most of our income is restricted and in fact the majority of both our income and expenditure was for the v project and to a lesser extent the CWDC project.

The vinvolved Oxfordshire project was a major piece of funding employing 6 staff here in the ocvys office. This funding will cease in 2011 and the CWDC project ends next March. In both cases it is hoped that further funding will be provided by the Government.

The Vox Inc project which was part of OCVYS ceased to be so on 1st April 2008 when it applied to become its own registered charity. This was successfully accomplished in July 2009.

Unrestricted income was mainly from Membership Fees, the Management fee from v and CWDC and Investment Income. The surplus of £19367 represents some good housekeeping but also the fact that their were significant gaps in the salary bill for the Chief Exec and Admin Post, which are fully explained within the Annual Report

OCVYS is in a healthy position with total funds carried forward of £56852.

I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have on the accounts
