* Are you an active group working to improve your community and the service it
receives?
* Have you worked together with a Local Authority in Oxfordshire to influence and
improve decisions about your community and its services?
The South East Community Empowerment Awards offer the chance for you to win up to
£5000 to support your activities. The award scheme is being organised to encourage and
reward the dedication and enthusiasm of local people, voluntary organisations or
community groups who have worked with their local councils to improve their community
and its services and who will continue to influence decision making in the future.
Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) is administering the awards scheme in
Oxfordshire on behalf of the Oxfordshire Stronger Communities Alliance and details of the
awards and an application form are available to download from our website

The closing date for entries is 30 September and judging will take place during October,

The course will explore:-
- Exploring issues and challenges that exist in engaging Muslim young people (for voluntary, community and faith organisations)
- The dynamics around faith and culture for young Muslims (has an impact on the way the perceive service providers)
- Looking at barriers (real and perceived) that voluntary, community and faith organisations face when working with Muslim young people and each other
- To explore strategies to overcome issues, challenges and barriers
- How to develop effective partnership working
